Fibre Optic Systems’ range of Fast Ethernet Fibre Media Converters allow for a simple intermediate link between traditional RJ45 based copper networks. This allows for a simple elimination of the 100 metre link length limit by substituting copper for fibre with an effective range of several kilometres. Fast Ethernet converters have an effective bandwidth of 100 Mbit and are typically employed in pairs to extend a LAN to a remote location.
Care should be taken when selecting the mode and connector type of your media converters to match installed fibre – ensuring distances are within the allowable range.
